Professor Hao PENG's Research Paper Published in Top Journal - Nature Communications

We are delighted to announce that the research paper authored by Prof. Hao PENG, Assistant Professor of the Department of Data Science, has been published in Nature Communications, a highly esteemed international journal in computational social science. The paper, entitled “The Gender Gap in Scholarly Self-Promotion on Social Media”, was co-authored by three other academics from the U.S., including Professors Misha Teplitskiy and Daniel M. Romero from the University of Michigan, and Professor Emőke-Ágnes Horvát from Northwestern University.

Prof. PENG's research examines gender disparities in the self-promotion of research papers on Twitter. This study is significant as it highlights the importance of understanding how gender dynamics impact academic visibility and recognition, potentially influencing policies and practices to promote greater equity in the dissemination of scientific work.
