Data science scholar Prof Hao PENG honoured with the “Emerging Scientific Awards 2024”
Prof Hao PENG, Assistant Professor from the Department of Data Science, was awarded the “Emerging Scientific Awards 2024” by the Complex Systems Society (CSS) for his imaginative use of network theory and computational methods to advance the study of organizational success and human achievement.
The CSS Emerging Researcher Award recognizes promising researchers in Complex Systems. It is awarded once a year to up to three researchers who have made outstanding first steps in the complexity science research in any of the areas representative of the CSS.
"I am thrilled to be awarded this prestigious award as an early career scientist. It represents a timely recognition of my current endeavor on applying tools in complexity science and data science to improve the idea adoption process in the ecosystem of scientific innovation. I'm grateful to the resources provided by CityUHK and the Department of Data Science for me to continue my research on this topic. I strongly believe it holds great potential to open up a new field in the study of innovation communication and dissemination.”
The Emerging Researchers are selected based on their main research contributions, the interdisciplinarity of their work, evidence of their good communication practices, both with peers and the general public, as well as their potential to further complex systems research agenda in the future.
Congratulations to Professor Hao PENG on this well-deserved recognition of his exceptional research accomplishments. His work continues to advance the scientific study of complex systems and benefit the academic community.
