The National Natural Science Foundation of China announced that Professor Qin, Dean of the School of Data Science and Director of the Hong Kong Institute for Data Science, has secured a key-supported grant from his research project titled “data-driven abnormal situation diagnosis and self-healing control for complex industrial systems”.
The grant, amounting RMB 2.64 million plus overhead, will be awarded to tackle challenges in industrial big data and provide a solution on data-driven abnormal situation diagnosis and self-healing control. The project is a collaboration with the National Key Lab on Synthetic Automation at Northeastern University with 40% of the fund to be allocated to Professor Qin to carry out the research.
