The Department of Data Science (DS) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) hosted a DS Distinguished Seminar featuring Prof. Steven Low from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Prof. Low delivered a talk entitled “Optimal Power Flow Global Optimality, Unbalanced Power Flow, Robust Hosting Capacity.”

Prof. Low is the F. J. Gilloon Professor in Caltech’s Computing & Mathematical Sciences Department and Electrical Engineering Department. He is well known for contributions to Internet congestion control and optimal power flow in smart grids. A Fellow of IEEE, ACM, and CSEE, Prof. Low has received multiple major awards, and his research has been deployed in Internet content distribution and large-scale workplace electric-vehicle charging. He is also the author of Power System Analysis: Analytical tools and structural properties (forthcoming, Cambridge University Press).

DS thanks Prof. Low for his visit and for the engaging interaction with our faculty and students.
