DS Distinguished Seminar Highlighted AI-Empowered Fast Stability Assessment and GPS-Enabled Wide-Area Grid Monitoring

The Department of Data Science (DS) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) hosted a DS Distinguished Seminar featuring Prof. Yilu LIU from the University of Tennessee, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Prof. Liu delivered a talk entitled “AI-Empowered Fast Stability Assessment.”

Prof. Liu is the UT–ORNL Governor’s Chair at the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the Deputy Director of the DOE/NSF Engineering Research Center CURENT. She led the development of the Frequency Monitoring Network (FNET/GridEye) for the North American power grid and is widely recognized for her expertise in large-scale power system modeling, simulation, and monitoring. Prof. Liu is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and an IEEE Fellow.
