Session Chair Responsibilities
- A session chair needs to select the potential application(s) and the track of the session to be proposed. Multiple applications may be selected. Session chairs are encouraged to identify additional applications by selecting “Other” and providing more specific information.
- A session chair may choose to organize a distinguished session, a regular-talk session (with 3–4 regular talks), a flash-talk session (with 7–8 flash talks), or other special sessions. Please indicate your preference in the request form. If you have multiple session requests, please submit them in separate request forms.
- If a regular-talk session has less than three (3) presentations, the session chair may contact the organization committee to discuss options for merging your session with another session. Inviting senior members to present in your session is highly encouraged.
- Session chairs are encouraged to explicitly announce the flash-talk presentation option at the time of the author's invitation and prioritize finding the flash-talk presenters. It is generally best practice to ask each presenter about their preference, but a session chair may choose to recruit presenters specifically for each talk type.
